Above Afritz, Verditz, approx. 8 km away, offers forest trails, alpine meadows and wide mountain views. A highlight is the route towards Schwarzsee, a small mountain lake hidden in the forest. Routes range from shorter walks to longer hikes reaching around 1,900 metres.
For panoramic hiking, Gerlitzen Alpe, approx. 17 km away, is easily accessible by cable car from Annenheim. From the mountain station, marked trails lead across open alpine terrain towards the 1,911-metre summit, with views across Carinthia towards Italy and Slovenia.

Villach, approx. 18 km away, is around 20 minutes by car and ideal for shopping, restaurants, cafés and a walk through the old town. Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, approx. 50 km away, takes around 35 minutes and combines a historic centre with attractions and beaches around Wörthersee.
The Nockalm Road, approx. 45 km away, is one of Carinthia’s finest scenic drives. The 34-kilometre panoramic road winds through the Nockberge, with viewpoints, walking trails and mountain huts along the way.
